Grandfather

George Arthur Flitton was my maternal Grandfather. He was born on 30 December 1894 in Aley Green, Caddington. He signed up on 6 April 1915 and was discharged on 30 July 1919. He married at St Paul's Church, Hibbert Street in 1922 and died in the Luton and Dunstable Hospital on 26 March 1967 having lived all his married life in Arthur Street. He was employed in the hat industry, suffered from tuberculosis and never spoke of his war service. He did however love to sing the old songs... "It's a long way to Tipperary" , "Madamoiselle from Armentiers" etc
