Driver George Rosson

George Rosson was born in 1882 in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. He was 1 of 5 children born to Richard & Laura.

In 1891 the family are living on Hockliffe Road, Leighton Buzzard. Richard is 64 & a carpenter, Laura is 44. Frank the eldest son is 14 years old & working as a parchment maker's boy, 10 year old Lily & 8 year old George are at school, whilst 5 year old Harry & 2 year old Laura are at home.

Captain Gwynne Evan Owen Williams

Gwynne Evan Owen Williams was born in Luton in April 1881. He was the eldest son of 6 children born to Alderman Herbert Owen & Edith Jane.

He was a pupil at Bedford Grammar School & in 1911 a medical student living away from home in a student's house in St Pancras whilst studying at University College Hospital in London.

He served as assistant medical officer at Lewisham Infirmary and surgical registrar at the Dreadnought Seamen's Hospital, Greenwich.

Corporal Horace Victor Barton

Horace Victor Barton was the eldest of 2 sons born to Alfred & Sarah.

He was born in Luton in January 1891.

In 1911 he was 20 years old & working in the iron foundry as a moulder making stove grates. His father is 44, a straw hat blocker, his mother Sarah is 42 & a straw hat machinist. His brother Percy is a 15 year old errand boy & they are all living at 52 Guildford Street.

In 1915 Horace married Emily Lamb.

Private John Raysons Davis

John Raysons Davis was born in Luton in 1897 to Thomas John & Amma Louise.

In 1911 he is living at 3 Liverpool Road, Luton. His father is a straw & felt hat maker, his mother is a straw hat machinist working at home whilst looking after 3 year old Cyril & 7 month old Reginald James. John is 14 years old & working as an errand boy, whilst sisters Beatrice Louise, 12 & Constance Ruth, 7 are at school. They have 2 boarders also living with them, 78 year old Mary Ann Pestell & hat maker John Clarke, 47.
