Pte Ernest Morgan, 3/7366, 1st Bedfordshire Regiment, was killed in action near Arras on May 1st, 1916. He was aged 19.

Born in Dunstable in 1896, his home at the time of his death was 16 Wimbourne Road, Luton. He was the son of Agnes and the late Charles Morgan, who had died in 1910.

After arriving in Luton he was employed as a greengrocer's assistant at the Tuffnell grocery store in Dallow Road. He then worked at the Diamond Foundry and in late 1913 became a special reservist when he had just turned 17.

Cyclist Henry Albert 'Harry' James, 3164, 47th London Divisional Cyclist Company, was killed in action in action in France on January 21st, 1916.

He was one of 17 employees of the Diamond Foundry in Dallow Road who joined the 17th Battalion London Regiment as a rifleman in September 1914 and transferred to the Cyclist Company when it was formed.

Harry was the only son of Job and Lizzie James, of 2 Wimbourne Road, Luton. He was aged 23.

Pte Henry Lyon, 3/7723, 2nd Battalion Beds Regiment, was killed in action on June 16th, 1915, near Givenchy. He was aged 42.

The iron moulder from Church Street, Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland, had possibly moved to Luton to work. He is included on the Luton Roll of Honour with an address at 27 Wimbourne Road, Luton.
