Pte Arthur Wallace Woodcroft, 18612, 2nd Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment, was killed in action in Flanders on November 27th, 1915. Some military records name him as Arthur Walter Woodcroft.

He was 28 years old and the son of Arthur and Emily Woodcroft. Married in April 1909, he left a widow, Beatrice Maud (nee Mitchell), and two children, Elsie Maud (born December 24th, 1910) and Ronald Arthur (born November 12, 1913). The family lived at 66 May Street, Luton.

Sapper Arthur Alec (Aleck or Alick)* Frost, 1663, 1st (East Anglian) Field Company Royal Engineers, was killed in action on June 25th, 1915. He was aged 25.

Born in Luton in late 1889, the former secretary of Glendale Football Club, whose parents Frederick and Emeline** Lonsdale Frost lived at 82 Park Road West, Luton, enlisted in the Engineers in October 1914 and was drafted to the front around Easter 1915.

Rifleman James Burgess, 11650, 4th King's Royal Rifle Corps, died on March 10th, 1915, from wounds sustained in the trenches near Givenchy earlier that day.

His mother Sarah Ann at 63 Chobham Street, Luton, did not receive official War Office confirmation until July 1915, but had been informed unofficially in a letter from Rifleman F. Featherstone some weeks earlier.
