Luton Hoo Memorial Park

Lady Ludlow presented this park in Tennyson Rd to the people of Luton on 12th June 1920 in memory of her son Alex Pigott Wernher who was killed in action in 1916. She unveiled the war memorial in the park at a ceremony on 10th December 1922 and  dedicated the park now officially named Luton Hoo Memorial Park, to all the men of Luton who gave their lives in the Great War.

Herr Koch Photo Album

This is a photo album that I got from my Grandfather who was a German soldier in WWI and originally based in Minden, Germany. It contains lots of photos he took whilst being at the Western front, mainly from Belgium and France. While this is not directly related to Luton (except that I'm living in Luton now), it depicts the 'other' side of the war and the whole madness experienced by both parties, allies and central powers.
